The Earth whips around

the sun at sixty thousand

mph; Sol around the

Milky Way at, wow!

five hundred thousand miles 

per hour, but that’s nothing!

Our little galaxy flings us across

the universe at a sweet one million,

two hundred thousand miles per hour.

HANG ON!

Space, time, and gravity

are chained at the neck,

and we are hitched to

their bumper, whipsawed

by each passing lover

who spins too close,

makes us wobble,

tickles our fancy,

or stabs us in the neck.

Their touch is frozen in

the empty spaces of memory,

slowed only by a random

damming in the stream of

our consciousness.

WHOA!

We’re mere pawns in the path

of those darlings with flowers

or long, curved fangs, the basic

building blocks we’re made of,

strewn along the unabridged miles,

way, way back there, marked by

bloody feet on an impossible path

we did not know we chose until

it was too late.

Yeah, but.... I hear with a certain herbal assistance that you can make gravity less effective on your mind. Plus, if you run in the opposite direction then you can float away and become a cloud that just goes with the flow.
Okay, it's not a scientific fact, but a really stoned gal told me it once and I was so stonedi believed her!
But love and passion can warp the very fabric of the space time continuum, which is a really cool word because it has two u's right next to each other and ... what were we talking about again? Oh yeah, I'll have a moccalattecino and a slice of death by chocolate cake please!

You know I DO look at life as you describe... while sitting at my computer, playing with words.
