I love this Vol. you have taken a small moment in time and imbued it with such intimacy and meaning it is beautiful. I am just waking to a new day and this is a great start, reading this poem, though you do make me long for that feel of a woman. Well done my friend.

I think you have nailed it concerning the philosophers, Vol. Despite all of their rantings, everything does come down to this moment, now. If Nietzsche had understood that, he might have retained his sanity.

I think maybe Philosophy is wasted on everyone over 30. The young need to know there is value in "thinking," and reading serious answers to life's questions is helpful when coming to grips with life's issues. But ultimately, serious people figure out there are no answers that make any more sense than "42."
I love how you let the philosophers wander through only to be outdone by a warm body and a cold dawn. The moment wins, and it feels wonderfully human.

I was introduced to philosophy as a serious study way back in High School. Beleve it or not, we had a college level HUMANITIES class I took my junior year. It was maybe the only class I took that taught me something I didn’t already know. Well, typing was new, too.
Hi Vol, I smiled at "I wonder
if Jean Paul Sartre ever got around
to anything like this, and decide
probably not, even if he was French." ...Some things are just not fathomable that anybody else could feel something so wonderful and luscious and fulfilling.
I love your bluntness which makes your writes so appealing as to search for them like a hungry bee is drawn to the most delicious nectar...or those jeans entangled on the playground that chair was...Chills, I got, and a tiny bead of sweat on my top lip.

The Modern poets worked frantically to offer answers the world needed in its new birth as a"military industrial complex." I've studied many of them and, their writings are full of beauty and wisdom whether they opted for religion or philosophy. My favorite, though, is D. H. Lawrence. He chose sensuality, consciousness of beauty everywhere all the time. The rising moon, encounter with a snake, the pleasure of touch, the need for freedom from harsh convention.
He was one of the original, “imagists.” and an inspiration to me.

That's the trouble with philosophers Vol. They are too intent on coming up with ready made quips about existence to actually live life in the moment, where others can just shut the gell up and enjoy those moments of togetherness silently.
Perhaps they hate that intimacy that doesn't need sound, like a self playing audio tape trying to break the moment apart like a geode to see what its constituents look like.
If they are talking in those moments they are doing it all wrong and would flunk the class immediately by asking do they get extra points if this or that is done or felt.
Now im adding philosophers alongside politicians and lawyers into the dregs of existence bucket, dagnabbit! 😀

'And when I leave your side and walk away,
I’ll see the legs of our jeans tangled over
the arm of that easy chair playground of ours
and laugh out loud at all the darkness
everyone is so worried about.'
There are times when what is inside one's mind and life it far more important and valuable than Self and its creation and glory in magicking a leaf into a tree, a tiddler into a white whale. Depends on the way a person dreams then lives - or tries to. Perhaps.

Maybe it is this, that the simplest of joys, the slightest touch, eye contact with tomes of meaning, from souls sharing an arcane wisdom. There have not been but maybe two or three times my soul got entangled with another, but it happens when there is some airy bit of deepest life meets two at once. It is a sign of life well lived, and a spark to ignite more of it. Somehow, friends who share souls are all that is necessary to make it through. It should be a cultural goal that everyone is taught the importance of connection through love. Teachers should reward the little ones and always reinforced by everyone.
