WILDERNESS

WILDERNESS

A Poem by Vol

I lay there a long time this morning

trying to practice being alive again.

There was this quiet buzz in my belly,

something to do with the curves of you

pressed into my back and receding

with every breath in the cold air.

The edges of the window hint at dawn

and I float like someone disembodied

in this womb of warmth and soft time.

The weight of your breasts press against

my awareness and your thigh over my hip

makes me want to never move again.

Random thoughts snag themselves

in the corners of my neuronet and I wonder

if Jean Paul Sartre ever got around

to anything like this, and decide

probably not, even if he was French.

And this dribble of Camus’ black ink

left lying here, “to protest against the

universe of grief, we must create happiness.”

Ha! Sartre, Ha! Camus! Ha! Philosophers!

Let me tell you about all that;

this warm moment, right here, right now,

contains all there is to know about everything.

And when I leave your side and walk away,

I’ll see the legs of our jeans tangled over

the arm of that easy chair playground of ours

and laugh out loud at all the darkness

everyone is so worried about.

I love this Vol. you have taken a small moment in time and imbued it with such intimacy and meaning it is beautiful. I am just waking to a new day and this is a great start, reading this poem, though you do make me long for that feel of a woman. Well done my friend.

There is nothing like bodies playing spoons...it is a feeling that can't be described...although wait, you just did, perfectly I may add.

I think you have nailed it concerning the philosophers, Vol. Despite all of their rantings, everything does come down to this moment, now. If Nietzsche had understood that, he might have retained his sanity.

I love how you let the philosophers wander through only to be outdone by a warm body and a cold dawn. The moment wins, and it feels wonderfully human.

Hi Vol, I smiled at "I wonder

I love your bluntness which makes your writes so appealing as to search for them like a hungry bee is drawn to the most delicious nectar...or those jeans entangled on the playground that chair was...Chills, I got, and a tiny bead of sweat on my top lip.

That's the trouble with philosophers Vol. They are too intent on coming up with ready made quips about existence to actually live life in the moment, where others can just shut the gell up and enjoy those moments of togetherness silently.
Perhaps they hate that intimacy that doesn't need sound, like a self playing audio tape trying to break the moment apart like a geode to see what its constituents look like.
If they are talking in those moments they are doing it all wrong and would flunk the class immediately by asking do they get extra points if this or that is done or felt.
Now im adding philosophers alongside politicians and lawyers into the dregs of existence bucket, dagnabbit! 😀

And that, sir, is the whole idea.
'And when I leave your side and walk away,
I’ll see the legs of our jeans tangled over

and laugh out loud at all the darkness

everyone is so worried about.'

There are times when what is inside one's mind and life it far more important and valuable than Self and its creation and glory in magicking a leaf into a tree, a tiddler into a white whale. Depends on the way a person dreams then lives - or tries to. Perhaps.
