Do
Aliens walk among us? In all my decades watching people, I have only
encountered one person who seemed fundamentally different from
everyone else. I was taking a couple of summer classes at UT when my
meds needed a refill, so I went to the handy Walgreens across the
street. I got my prescriptions, turned to leave, and there she was.
Honestly one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen. She was a
blond with little white shorts, a knit top laced up the front, and
spaghetti straps, three inch heels made her legs fit perfectly into
my Plato vision of perfection. She glowed! CLEAN,
HEALTHY, PERFECTLY MADE,
she poured pink light onto everything within maybe six to ten feet.
The ceiling tiles above reflected pink, the little bottles on the
wall shelves were pink, and she stood in a puddle of pink light on
the white linoleum. Her aura was a tangible, powerful presence. I've
never seen anything like her unnatural beauty. I stared, and got
lucky because she never noticed me, even though I followed till she
went outside and drove off in her perfectly ordinary car. Even today,
the vision of her is branded into me as though by a red hot iron.

If
there are other beings out there, also trapped in their version of a
flesh-prison, I imagine they are also Existentialists, I just hope
their version works better than ours. From what I've been reading
about quantum physics, it seems they are beginning to conclude that
the universe is a conscious being... and that ALL
consciousness
is sourced from there and is connected. If that is the case, then ALL
conscious, aware beings are inhabited by the same spiritual source,
so there really is no such thing as an "alien." The idea
makes sense to me and affirms my Christian belief in a Pantheistic
Trinity.

I
think we have to understand that things without substance, things
that have no means of measurement, must exist in a reality we know
nothing about, so what we think is absolutely irrelevant. We just
can’t help it, though, so we spray-paint “WHY”
in two foot letters on dark alley walls.

What
can
we know about the nature of God? "If the Universe is conscious,
then the Universe is God." Then I think, maybe God is separate
and outside the Universe. He created a huge Empty, so he would have a
place for His vast Nothing as a home for the Conscious Universe He
dreamed up one Sunday morning. Again, except for the moments we take
the time to spend with them, our thoughts about things we cannot
comprehend are irrelevant. The truth is out there in a place we
cannot visit. My faith wants to believe that God is incomprehensible
to the three pound lump of fat I call my brain. But then I think the
ultimate consciousness must
include my own, currently trapped in this aging flesh prison. In the
totality of who/what/when God is, maybe I'm a divine neuron, or just
a thought, an idea God is pondering? Reality is a funny thing and we
run around in it like slapstick fools of the first order.

Corinthians 13:12 “For
now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in
part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.”
Perhaps we will know all things when our bodies are discarded, and
our spirit/soul/mind becomes fully realized in God. I spent my whole
life wondering, fearing its end only to find the most important
thing is the promise that death has lost its sting now I know what a
reward it will be...
I reckon if I were a thought of God, then I would be that itch he cant reach tonight in the middle of his back, which would make mere mortals say "Oh Jesus Christ" that itches, but think it would lose some of its emphasis if he said "Oh my son!"
And if we are all one from all, doesn't that make way more sense anyway? One body, one mind, one soul without all the bitterness and hatred we make everything difficult with.
Im sure you omitted Elon Musk to make a point about that ladies beauty, but whatever flavour of alien musk is, would probably be the ones that are so committed to anal probes and only kidnapping hillbillies. All men, women and everything we now add in between, unless of course were talking about Olympic sports are equal (except Musk's weird alien butt probing crew) and if confirmed would be the new Mormons of the universe, where we'd send our kids to the door to tell them we're not in then slam the door shut before they can answer.
We are all alive and in it together so wouldn't it just be easier saying that than breaking it all down like we do today until everyone is completely unique and special, why makes no sense because how can everyone be special and what's so wrong with being ordinary anyway?
Lastly, the big empty you refer to means something totally different in scotland. It means your parents are away and you are getting a party. Not having one, getting one!
And it will almost certainly be a mad wan (mad one) 😃

Lorry,

(I just finished writing all this and have come back here to apologize/warn you to proceed with caution… comes from too much solitude and isolation. I certainly did not start out with this in mind, when I finally came to, I just shook my head. If it was anybody but you, I’d scrap all of it, but I’d have to start all over, and I’m too tired...)
Everyone knows the Old Testament Super Heroes were some kind of allegory, metaphor, simile, or whatever, and somebody salted the garden, because humans just hate it when things are too easy. If it works we break it; if its nutritious, we grind it up and add poison, if it is beautiful we write our names across its face, if it’s a five thousand year old tree, we cut it down. We are not to be trusted because even when we do our best to add rather than diminish, we always fail. I heard a lecture just this morning about how every civilization that ever existed has destroyed itself, allowed the Barbarians in because they complicated their lives to the point they had no idea how to crawl out from under the mountain of confusion they made for themselves… case in point, when The Devil brought an income tax to America, it was fourteen pages long, today it is fifty-four thousand pages. The same has happened for every issue, or subject, or set of laws we are currently expected to know and obey. Today, we are so good at it, that what took the Romans twelve centuries to tear down we’ve done in only two hundred. Talk about progress!
There is no way to know anything about anything not made of energy or matter. Any attempt to prove the immeasurable is a waste of time. There is something in our immeasurable psyche that wants us to be “Greater than the sum of our parts,” so we are compelled to find some kind of immeasurable meaning for why we even happened along.
Here’s the choice, were we deliberately and mysteriously created, or did we just crawl from the mud? It matters not which we choose, since no one knows, but either choice, requires EXACTLY the same amount of faith to believe.
If they place powerful electromagnets in just the right place on your head, the immeasurable result is, God comes for a sit-down tea and wants to talk, and no one knows why that happens. If you can’t beieve how immeasurable your love for your partner, how’d that happen, did you decide? Did you draw lots? Cut cards? Maybe her soul was in her saliva and when you kissed, the transfusion was a chemical reaction and the poison killed all resistance.
We have no problem believing all kinds of things that cannot be measured. Ideas, fantasies, concepts, emotions, are all immeasurable things we accept into our reality without question. Why not a God aware of every atom of his being or his creation and its present condition? Or even every conscious being’s thoughts, emotions, and well being? I believe in things spiritual because I have encountered, been in the very real presence of a being from that realm. When I was maybe eighteen years old, I went into an “empty” house and was overwhelmed, almost knocked down by some kind of evil presence. It was undeniable and as real as the door I did not let hit me in the a*s as I let myself out of there. Whatever it was, it could not be measured, therefor not provable. But I was there, and I DO know.
From my point of view, it seems a lot of people think God is a religion, a church has spiritual powers, and so does the leather and onionskin paper of a Bible. Same kind of superstition humanity never gets right. Most of the atheists I’ve ever known cannot believe in the God described by the church they used to go to, but neither do I. The god I believe in doesn’t believe in the church that mislead them. It is not science which is oil to spiritual water, too different to reconcile. The Judaeo Christian Bible says “Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling,” probably the most important thing we’ll ever do. Like Socrates said, “The unexamined life is not worth living,” but nobody takes the time, so they become the litter and trash lining the sidewalks of human existence.

And yeah, trust us humans to overcomplicate things to our detriment.
I saw a thing on youtube recently that was like ten facts about America and at number 10 (ten, not one) was the fact tax for rich people used to be 90%. I wondered how that didn't catch on. Maybe because the people with power are the rich!
I'll stay away from taxing religious institutions because thats a whole new bag of things I don't wanna go near, but maybe making them tax exempt has tempted those organisations into being sparing with the truth, or outright criminal sinners, depending on how much tax a person pays! 😃
