It seems obvious that folks have noticed my prolonged absence. Well, I just got home from Hospital where I was told, with raised eyebrows and sideways glances, that "You are lucky you came home when you did." I don't get sick. EVER, I cannot remember EVER missing a day of work because I was sick." I'll relate the whole story when I'm recovered enough. I think the Lord must favor my poems and has spared me for now. Looks like I've got a lot of things to respond to, will do so from my slower perspective asap. I've had the hiccups since last Tuesday, which is helping nothing... p^ity ^the fol^ks wh^o ca^ll ^me... (every three seconds).
Oh geez...I went through that hiccup thing after my triple bypass...that was worse than any pain I was experienced...I had the hiccups for a solid week after the surgery and it was every few seconds.
I hope your recovery continues and you can get rid of those hiccups...Thank you for letting us know the reason for your absence.

Hiccups! Had mine since last Tuesday till this morning. They were so bad and sometimes would staccato, and paralyze my diaphragm and I could not breathe for up to five seconds. The Dr. mentioned my hiatal hernia is probably responsible. They tell me I was very close to dying. Anyway, I feel lighter, and brighter more patient, and more relaxed. Still trying to assimilate it all.

So sorry to hear this. Sending you all best wishes for a speedy recovery Vol, from across the pond. Take it easy, pace yourself and get plenty of rest. Wishing you better.

Thank you! It has been a wild week. I'm still trying to assimilate what it means to be sick unto death, A day later to hospital, and someone else would be shutting my computer down for the last time. I'm going to write about it when the whirling dust settles down. My mind has moved into a whole new space. I feel lighter, leaving Sartre behind, and moving into Camus. Like I haven't lost knowledge, or logic, but all that seems pointless, I smile more... I'm more patient, I thought I was dying, and the ER agreed and said "Good thing you came in when you did... you didn't have any time to waste. I did find our that death really has lost its sting, though I'm a Christian and wasn't particularly worried, anyway. From the reading I done over several years about TIME and CONSCIOUSNESS. Our blood and bones are are a place we occupy for now, but when it's done we move on as a separate awareness, in what the Quantum scientists are calling , The Conscious Universe. An "entity!" It has been my theology for decades, and now they are attempting to prove I have been right all along. When they do, there are going to be lot of surprised Atheists.... Sorry, got carried away. I did not sleep from last Tuesday night, until Monday. I'm just feeling so good that my case of hiccups since April14th till today has gone on to torture someone else, poor sot. And just THANK YOU for being here...

Hi Vol, Seems I remember you being under the weather a couple of times. The friend with you in the doctor's office, not my best pal. Hugs. Take care. We miss you lots when you're not here.
