The Gnome

The Gnome

A Poem by Stanislav Volo
"

Inspired by the idea of the Voynich manuscript

"
There was a home
Where lived a Gnome.
The home was grey
It was a sunny day.
Inside this home
There was a book,
Which I preferred
To have a look;
The book was all
About some leaves
And how those leaves
Can cure disease;
Gnome sang a song
About his home
And how he’s living
All alone
But suddenly
The book was gone
And little gnome
And a little home.
And now I wonder,
If there ever was a gnome,
But here and there
I still can hear his song.

I watched a documentary on line recently about that mysterious book. This is such a good poem and has the feel of a parable like those of the brothers Grimm. Very nicely written.
