Wilted in Wait

Wilted in Wait

A Poem by Shravya
"

A poem written for my ex bestfriend, someone who left but couldn't take her memories with her

"
All the unborn words buried in my head,
All the promises given but unkept,
All the love I haven't showed yet ,
Words on my tongue tip being swallowed up again.

My sweet visions are just our pasts' empty shell.
Memories or daydreams? I can't tell.
Misunderstandings form a fog so dense ,
It clouds our vision till nothing makes sense .

All I wish- glance of yours;
All I wish- a laugh, a smile;
My love for you - never wavering, of course.
Alas, by you now it is distanced a mile.

Are what my hopes tell, but true?
Is there a future for me and you?
Will you look at me with your twinkling eyes again?
And In it, will I, be able to see anything but disdain?

Attempts of restraining my mind of your memories,
But my heart breaks every chain on me,
My bones bleach, my flesh flees,
So please breathe life into what's left of me.

It's my first time publishing a poem, english is not my first language so I thought not to share it, but I've hid my poems from the world for way too long in fear of being criticised or hated upon, so please be kind, ™ ͜ ʖ ™

This is heartbreak wrapped in poetry—raw, tender, and beautifully aching. It feels like a love that still lingers in every breath, even when distance says otherwise. I wish you all the best and please share more of your work and keep writing.
