A Weary HeartA Poem by SkyeThe cool spring breeze ignites the past; once again, saccharine warmth singes deep wounds held in my heart. Memories which laid dormant spring forth and steal my breath. No sleep affords a cool escape; longing intrudes sweet dreams. A heavy heart strains, weary from years traveled, lifeblood slowly seeping from the nicks and lacerations, scars thought to be healed that ache with every beat.
