The Wrong Girl

The Wrong Girl

A Poem by Rebekah Smith
"

:(

"
I think you belong with her -
Not me,
I doesn't matter how I move
Or how I speak,
No matter how much strength I show you
In her place I'm weak
Oh...
I just think you belong with her,
Not me.

A man with wandering eyes is looking for something he will only find in himself, the last place he will ever look. And the more elusive it is, the more attractive it is. No human woman could satisfy it, because he is seeking the divine feminine. If he would only see it in himself, then he could stop projecting it onto other humans and being disappointed when their humanity inevitably breaks through that projected image.
Good poem, great description of taking back seat to someone's search for perfection in an imperfect world.
