More Than Okay..

I know I swore to you I'd be okay

but okay doesn't always mean something good

Sometimes okay is 

just taking a breath

getting through to the next moment

making it all day

and somehow getting some rest that night

I know I swore to you you'd be okay

please know that okay doesn't always mean happy

Sometimes okay is

keeping your mouth shut even when you want to scream

shedding a few tears now and then

and deciding not to end it all that night

I know life can be hard

and we will all swear that we are okay

but someday I hope we are more

Someday I hope

we wake up happy every morning

struggle to wipe the smile from our faces

and take countless adventures

I pray we don't soon forget our struggles

but that they will fade away

that we can one day say

"I am more than okay"
