Bumble

Bumble

A Poem by Carmel Kirk

Car crashes have lost their thrill
I just need to feel
Give me something real

Tossing, turning pages in the corners of my mind
A symphony of echoes
Scattered, left behind
Everybody dies
Very few will live
One foot in the grave
Circling the drain

Now I'm calling from the otherside
Where the empty and cold reside
For all time
Now you're falling in the traps you placed
Scraping, crawling, tightrope walking
Sink into the grey

I tried, I tried
I tried in vain for days
To wish myself away

Tossing, turning pages in the corners of my mind
A symphony of echoes
Fragments lost in time
Everybody dines
With the living dead
Floating through the haze
Riding wings of lead

Now I'm calling
Now you're falling
Forever crawling through the otherside
