The Shadow falls once again

Once again time stands still

Once again I’m holding on

Perhaps I always will

 

Once again the distance grows

Once again I feel alone

The shadow hovers over me

Once again your heart is stone

 

I want so much to hold you

Once again I fight the tide

I love with all I have to give

And fight to the other side

 

Once again like sands through time

The distance seems to grow

I see the love in your eyes

You are hers I know

Author's Note

This was written about the third time my ex husband... husband at the time... took up with the same woman. The shadow represents her presence in our lives again.
