Heartbroken

Heartbroken

A Poem by Jennifer P

Mist that hovers over ground
Shadows moving to and fro
Whispers call through the still
On the petals of the rose
Hearts that cry in sweet despair
While they crack in two
Like a teardrop meant to cry
Drips off the early dew

Sweet melody so haunting
Drifts through the thickened air
All the anguish of the world
Echoes off the mountains fair
In stillness... yes in silence
The lonely fade from sight
Emptiness is all there is
In the encroaching endless night

Within the darkness of heartbreak portrayed in this honest rendering is a light which shines from your soul. The beauty of your words are such as to lessen the impact of such sadness and woe. You have crafted a touching and authentic piece whose beauty is its honesty and authenticity.

Thank you for sharing this blessing of words.
