An environmental epiphany of sorts...

About one evening, I write today,

When the sun shone its weakest.

In that light, I realized how much

Nature has been put to test.

Not that I haven’t seen dusk before,
But the realization dawned at dusk.
When everything became quiet and I,
Could feel the pain of a homeless mollusc.

How vehicles and roads and all man made,

Entered our quaint life as assets.

And how they polluted without cause,

The environment’s fragile facets.

How encroaching on space became a fad,
Amidst fast-disappearing forests,
How industries that produce relentlessly,
Would eventually the planet’s death attest.

How soon we’ll perish, only time shall tell,

As we continue to grow, unaware.

Losing sight of love for all that’s ours

Tackling only our “personal” life’s despair.
