Girl and Boy

Or did he..?

Let’s talk about a girl

and a boy

 

The one she loves

forever in dreams

She planned their lives

 

She saw a lover

he said only friends; never more

 

Every morning and noon

he was there with her

 

They’d known each other all their lives

 

She wants to know more

about the boy in her dreams

 

Just friends

only friends

The girl knows

 

Her heart quickens as her breath shortens

she sees her lover’s face

On the edge of insanity

Will he ever catch her?

 

He never did
