September in Reflection

These memories are selective choices.

September in Reflection
Crystalline memories ripple cognitive waves.
Fracture, long-term whispering thoughts colliding with
A short-term fragment. Another cycle completes midnight,
departure; to trace distant harmonies,
twilight tones unfurling like smoke on a still lake.
Amid lifeless noise, we seek our mind-vessels,
Always returning to the broken pieces of ourselves.
How can one escape this echo of misery?
In the texture of the unknown, the groundwaters of
Tomorrow rises faintly, like fireflies in jars, soft, flickering,
and fleeting. Leaving the hive, memories slipping from,
the mind but never absent; in the fragile mirror of
Remembrance, do you believe in it?
When we meet in dreams, we’ll see the reflection of a
life once meaningful; this piece of you, fading like
smoke at sunrise vanished, yet still lingers.
Within those dissolving images.
Do you believe in it?
This presence of the past.
This hunting fragment of us?

Then we see in our interpretation. Midnight departs in fragments.
