Morning delicacy

I see the sunrise and it is delicious

an early morning delicacy served

at the horizons edge

tempting to my palate

comfort food

in citrus colors

Cereal is merely sugar

and coffee can be bitter at times

toast is just toast

therefore I choose to consume the sunrise

each morning

because its beauty tastes like you

i really enjoyed this poem until the last line....then i was blown away completely..
there is simplicity here, but there is such a buffet of imagery, and a strong feeling as we leave the table...that there is the kind of love that will last eternities.
