Filtered longing

Filtered longing

A Poem by willweb

The smoke rising
in paisley wisps,
hangs in the air

Ashes collect
in the bottom
of a glass tray

Counting the dead,
crushed and bent
ending all life

But one fights
for reasons
in the gathering

One ember,
a lone survivor
still longs your lips

Bright red lipstick
caressing it softly,
I know how it feels

Woo, I adore the title to this one, Will. You have really outdone yourself with this one. I agree with everything Jacob said!

Thank you so much Noodlehead. Your nice words have made me smile.
sensual piece....rising from the ashes...i caress it , there is still a lit ash, there is still a sense of you, and i want to inhale it.

Thank you Ance. Happy you enjoyed this.
In your filtered longing, I saw the reasons of gathering. I felt the fights of life's endings...Bravo...........
