Back down

Back down

A Poem by willweb

Standing atop a ladder

I can see for miles

beyond what was known,

finding that which needed to be found

I am taken aback

by the endless possibilities

facing me while teetering

on the edge of life

Sadly, I am afraid of heights

and as I slowly creep back down

rung by shaky rung,

I see what always was…waiting for me

I am also very afraid of heights.Sometimes being scared keeps us from doing so much we want to and we quietly return to a never changing life.As usual you leave me in awe of your mighty pen :)

You are welcome :)
I am afraid of heights too! I get pin prick feelings in my feet... (pins and needles haha)...
But this is how I feel about most things in life! This is so straight-forwardly explained here. I like!

I like that, enjoy the fall, but I think I will pass on skydiving. Thanks again for your comments on my poetry. Glad you enjoyed this one David.

You have me smiling with this one will.
So often in life we "wimp out" on ourselves... the fall was not going to kill us and we would simply have been where we are now heading back to... Ha. :)
Maybe we should try to think of a way to enjoy the fall?
Skydiving anyone?

A new poem! Yay!

Ok... I know poems are open to interpretation. But I'll tell what it said to me.

That you stepped out of your comfort area for a moment and saw the possibilities, the world from a different perspective. Then stepped back down to where you belong, your safe place.

And perhaps you'll step out again? As the courage meter rises...

How cheesy did that sound on the cheese meter? :)
