Homophily

I learned a new word today

Why is the same always the same,

not showing any signs of change,

constant and unending,

Xerox emotions, conforming,

fearful of something new

 

Dull duets

sung in the identical key,

single note harmonies,

monotone instrumentations,

carbon copy compositions

 

Vanilla without the extract

or artificial flavoring

Bland flavorless pudding

mixed in the same bowl

in an indistinguishable fashion

 

Blank sheets

of colorless paper,

black ink following the lines,

meeting the expected structure,

counted rhymes equal to the sum

 

Boring -

birds of a feather and all of that

search some new branches to perch

an original melody, a dissimilar verse

a unique flavor " unfamiliar, unusual, un-normal

 

Why is the same always the same,

time to change the rules of this game

why? because often we just follow...we don't think outside the box...we have narrow judgements of anything we don't understand...
i wish we could be more open minded...but we aren't and that makes many of us..."flavorless" as you said.
