SWAK

I wrote a beautiful poem for you today,

expressing in romantic phrases

exactly how I feel about you

 

Verses of woven lines

penned with every ounce

of love my heart holds for you

 

I folded it neatly,

placed it in an envelope -

light blue, trimmed in silver

 

Wrote your name and address

and in the corner placed

a stamp picturing a blooming iris 

 

I sealed it (with a kiss)

and tenderly dropped it in the trash -

I figured I save you the energy
