A brief moment in time

I looked up a little cafe online

you said you stopped at this morning

on your way to work, before sunrise

 

The website photos were taken during daylight,

so I imagined otherwise

and could almost see you walking in

 

Glancing at their menu,

I tried to guess in my mind

what you had ordered

 

I then pictured us sitting

at one of the little wooden tables 

sharing a hot cup of coffee on a cold morning

 

Taking your hand in mine,

I look into your eyes

and fall in love all over again

 

Then a new email comes in from you,

so I click out and take a sip of my coffee

a million miles away

 

and dream of our next adventure together
