...perhaps someday

...perhaps someday

A Poem by willweb

Words,

I have been searching

for those magical words,

that collection of letters and phrases,

perfectly written

surrendered in every truth I know

that will show you

how deeply I care for you

They are out there, I know they are…

hidden in some old journal,

scribbled on faded pages

with a dust covered binding,

sitting on a shelf at a library

just out of reach

or penned in a poem,

beautiful fonts and affectionate thoughts,

perchance on this very site

for all the world to see

But I can’t seem to find them,

I have looked everywhere

and all I find are meaningless

verbs and nouns and other assorted characters

which are empty when compared

to these feelings of absolute devotion,

passion and desire

I hold for you in my heart

They don’t even begin to express

that you are my only dream,

the one I pray everyday will come true,

my sun and my moon, each star that I see

glistening in this universe I would

hand to you if I could

Not even close to conveying

you are as beautiful to me as a

cool spring morning and a warm summer night

That with each beat of my heart

I know you are my reason for living,

my entire existence, my everything

for without your love

I am nothing

So I will keep looking

…perhaps someday

i often wonder if the words every really express enough----especially when we try to write love.
i also feel as poets, we keep working at the goal of writing the really memorable poem, the one that will last as infinitely as true love.

it ani't easy to do, is it?

i really like this...but of course, the English teacher would like this play on and use of words.

Thanks so much Jacob. Funny, my English teacher never cared for me when I was in high school.
Such powerful emotion expressed in this and yet not so overwhelmingly that it overshadowed what you were saying in the poem itself. If you've yet to find exactly the words you're looking for, this might accomplish the same task. Well done.

Thank you so very much Green. I appreciate you stopping by today and leaving a nice comment.
A soft sigh escapes
As I read this.

Knowing
I am here
Before your eyes.

Except
You have overlooked me
As I sit
So patiently.

For that moment
Your wandering glance
To fall upon me
In your written words.

Enabling you
To share me
With your heart's desire.

Thus
Ending your search
And beginning
A love
So true.

Your welcome, Will. Have a great muse to inspire me, you.
A deeply passionate write Will. She has you by the 'balls' of faith and belief. Two offerings. First stanza last line:
'how much I deeply care for you' 'How deeply I care for you'. and fourth stanza second line

'you are my only dream' perhaps 'that you are my only dream''
