Candy cane watercolors

Candy cane watercolors

A Poem by willweb

A Christmas sunrise
paints my horizon
in candy cane watercolors
as I stare to the north
through barren branch silhouettes
reaching for a peppermint sky

And though I am awake,
shivering in December's chilled breeze,
breathing in the silence
of the dawning day,
I dream...of you

colors, scent, nature and cold .. all rolled into one .. to have this longing for someone not present o simply not yet awake can be a fine connection ... or unrequited love .. i prefer the former myself .. i am too old for unrequited ;) short and fully packed .. nice one for me Will!

Deeply romantic but with a plunging neckline of sadness that leaves feelings of the brutal frostbite of a lonely soul!

I agree as I have spent many hours there.
Ohhhh, so warm and beautiful, sweet Will. I truly loved this one, such a gorgeous poem written from the heart. Just what we need to read on a chilly December's night.

Thank you so much Noodlebumble. I am happy this one warmed you.
I hope it's a warm dream, or a dream that will warm you. The Christmas sunrise here was also in water, raindrops keel falling on my head this morning. My youngest sun is going skiing and there was no snow in France, just got an sms that it had begun to snow, so I guess christmas has many faces. I think I like yours. :) Rudi
