Calmer seas to kiss the shore

Calmer seas to kiss the shore

A Poem by willweb

Broken shells and seaweed

line this shore that I now stroll

Clouds have gathered in the sky

while raindrops take their toll

Angry waves are crashing

as the sound rings in my ear

Oh, how I long for sunny days

and mornings you were near

Darkness creeps in shadows

neath a moon without it's light

Daytime seems no different

than the loneliness of night

Seagulls head for cover

from a screaming, crying sea

Sorrow grips this shattered beach

right here in front of me

Hoping soon to find the sun

it's rays of warm appeal

The wind, so sweet across my brow

to know this isn't real

Calmer seas to kiss the shore

as smiles paint the day

But somehow, I just know I won't

since you have gone away

It is the same sea. Yet, our circumstances or season of life affect the way we view it. You hit the high note in making me believe it is a love torn beach. Kudos!

Thanks so much. I am glad you liked it.
The moods of the sea reflect the state of a broken romance. Descriptive and well crafted stanzas. Felt the emotion in this piece. Nicely penned willweb.

Thanks a bunch Chris. I am happy you enjoyed this one.
Very descriptive writing puts the reader right there on the beach. The stormy weather reflects the speaker's inner turmoil due to the absence of someone special. Pain here, but not despair, for the speaker knows the sun will shine again.

I understand the above lines my friend. I want one day to find Big Sur and write the great novel. It seem what we want is a million miles away. It isn't. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.
