Different dream

It was later than I thought

but earlier than it seemed

The night I closed my eyes

and woke up as I dreamed

 

I know there was a girl

who had the perfect smile

She took me by the hand

we walked a country mile

 

We strolled a snowy path

with trees along the way

A chilly breeze did blow

but still a perfect day

 

We sat beside a lake

and looked up to the sly

The sun was shining bright,

the world just flowing by

 

I did not know her name

but didn't really care

I gazed into her eyes

so happy we were there

 

When then she leaned in close

now this I couldn't miss

I closed my eyes real tight

and waited for her kiss

 

It's then that I awoke

but went right back to sleep

In hopes to feel her kiss

so warm and oh so deep

 

The next thing that I saw

that night just made me scream

Because I found myself

within a different dream
