Why not stop and just say hi?

 

So why not stop and just say hi,

it can’t be all that bad

It’s not that hard if you just try,

I’m sure no one is mad

 

The truth is there was something there,

it wasn’t all a dream

A feeling that we both did share,

if you know what I mean

 

But now the years have flown on by,

the seasons come and go

So why not stop and just say hi,

I’d love to say hello

Yeah, it's impressive that you could take something so simple and make poetry out of it.

yeah it hurts and it has hurt for a long time. But I don't dwell on it, I just am disappointed that the friendship couldn't remain. You would think time would change things but sadly it doesn't seem that way.

Nicely rhymed. Sounds like an attempt to renew acquaintances for old times' sake. I get the impression there was once something there, but with some rough edges. But from such, friendship can yet emerge.

I know this poem....became very close to one of my exes over the years...
No one was really mad...it is just how things worked out...
sometimes love cannot live together, but the love does not die.
