Darkness cries to grip the barrel

Glistened sheen of metal form

Farewells sing the night in echoes

Tears will tumble come the morn

Cowards way, that has been spoken

Still they crowd the welcome mat

Questioning this quick reversal

Never once of where they’re at

Such a lonely empty fellow

No one left to hold his hand

Ever since she stole his chances

Tossing out what he had planned

Sad, we find the broken reasons

In a letter left his bed

Only if someone had listened

Only if he wasn’t…

He may well not put his shoes back on when taking them off, but I suspect that a funeral worker might. Even mischievously Bury him in odd shoes, with odd socks too!
I need to rewrite my will so that I get buried properly, in my penguin onesie and slippers. It would be just my luck that heaven exists and I'd hate to look stupid at the gates 😊

I was sitting there reading the novel when I came across that line and because of what was going on in the book, this poem or thought of this poem came to me. Though, some days I'm not too sure but for the most part...nah, not me. : ) Thank you my friend.
