collecting seashells

I come out here every morning

just after sunrise to look for seashells

and when I find the perfect one,

I pick it up and take it home

to put with all of the others

I have collected...just in case

perhaps there is a message in one of them from that old love we felt the most comfort with...
or that collection of lovers...we just end up with the shells...the memories...
I like this kind of write for its brevity and its allowance for us to drift into an ocean of possibilities
for interpretation.

The word that comes to mind after reading this is poignant, but maybe not quite as sad as that word is technically defined as. It is often the little things that might not even seem important to someone else that often mean the most to us. Thank you for sharing this with us.
