dreaming of ripples

I went back to the lake

and sitting all alone

on the sandy shore,

picked up a smooth stone and

watched as the perfectly still waters

reflected a brilliant summer sky,

all the while

dreaming of ripples

Beautifully visual will. Many the time I have also watched the ripple effect on the marina lake on a fine calm day. A stone can create that effect so well but it can occur naturally too. A thoughtful piece. It’s good to be alone at times.

You always get the tough when all you want is smooth, my doninatrix neighbour is always saying.
I do understand this although smooth always wins, even in the eerily calm silence when all you want is a sign of life to make sure you haven't went deaf or are having a stroke.
Go visit a city at lunch time. You'll run all the way back to the smooth. 😊

Funny you should say that...I recall going to a coffee house back in 1974 it was called Martha's. Jim Croce performed there one night we were there. This was way Pre-Starbucks.
