Look at her smile (A Beatles inspired piece)

Look at her smile (A Beatles inspired piece)

A Poem by willweb
"

A piece written to the melody of The Beatles song "Elanor Rigby"

"

`

Ah, all I long to do is know her

Ah, all I long to do is show her

Look at her frowning

Seeing the sadness now found in the tears in her eyes

Silent her sighs

Why is she waiting

Here on the steps that are worn from the worry she bears

Lost in her stares

Life is very lonely

She hasn’t much to say

Life is very lonely

She longs to get away

Where is she looking

Off to a place that is empty of something to hold

No one is told

What is she thinking

Tossing some crumbs to the birds scattered out on the street

Something to eat

Life is very lonely

I ask her to explain

Life is very lonely

She can’t get past the pain

Ah, all I long to do is help her

Ah, all I long to do is hold her

Eleanor Rigby

Gives me her hand as I lead her to someplace she knows

Happiness grows

Look at her smile

All that she needed was someone to show her the way

It’s a new day

She’s no longer lonely

Her heart it has been spared

She’s no longer lonely

She’s found someone who cared

Most I am sure will not know this song but those who do, how do the lyrics fit to the music? I just got a wild hair and thought I would try to find a way to make Elanor happy.
Thank you if you stop by to read.

This is beautiful, willweb, in words and melody,
and kudos on such a BRILLIANT idea, saving Eleanor Rigby from more than a half-century of lonliness!!! :)

Wow, I hadn't thought about it that way. : ) Thanks so much my friend.
A lovely song-inspired poem with repetition that is effective and good rhyming. You must have the musical ear 👂 to pen such things.
Marvelously WilWeb.

You are welcome sir.
The greatest miracle in life are simple acts of kindness. Everything in this life is temporary and simple compared to the vastness of the Universe. Yet everything dies without the light of kindness and caring.
Thank you for creating one more point of light within the darkness.

Thanks so much Scott. Happy I could bring a little light to your day.
God bless John Lennon & George Harrison, for they are not "here today" to form a reunion with their fellas.
This Parody perefectly fits the Eleanor Rigby song. Very well done Willweb. I am a huge Beatles fan and I almost spent 3 months studying on the Beatles every album and track and their lives and everything couple of years ago. If you haven't watched the Get Back documentry( which I guess you have watched), go watch it ASAP. Hats off to all the Beatles fans, Viva Beatles!

Haha! Okay sir!
lol! I am surprised how many words here are the same ones I am using in my new poem. also the theme is almost the same. I don't remember the melody of the song, but your poem here beats with music, and beats with both tones sad and uplifting, suits Beatles so well.

You are kind :>
"keeping her face in a jar by the door"
who is it for?
the speaker in this poem who has come to release her from her loneliness...
maybe she will have her own rice, her own wedding.

Thanks Jacob. It just seemed like a fun thing to do.
The lyrics fit the music to a T....I actually sang them as I read. Considering today is the anniversary of the murder of John Lennon, this poem is so appropriate. It tells a story with a happy ending. i liked it. Lydi**

Thanks so much Lydi I was hoping someone would sing them to the melody.
Yes I do know the song Will it was part of my era. I thought as I began to read it, you should have been writing songs for the Beatles. It seems to fit very well indeed. I love your rendition it. The original speaks of all the lonely people, isolation, sadness. at least yours ends on a more positive note. Nicely done

Thanks so much my friend. Just a little experiment.
I have heard this song. A sketch of lonely people. Your words fit in quite well with the song and I could sing a few lines in the same tune. I guess we're all lonely at some point so it's about all of us. The happy ending was a plus and Elanor seems smiling now.
Wonderfully creative work from you.

You're welcome always. Much enjoyed!
I was trying to recall the melody of "Eleanor Rigby" as I read this one, and I think the words do fit it nicely. Glad Eleanor got a happy ending this time around.
