Facing a wall and a storm cloud

head first reactions

blank oblivion

thundering reminders

that standing still

can break the will

of even the best foundation

when water forms puddles

and you fail to notice

that it is you who are crumbling

We are taught in the corporate sector that stagnation is deleterious for business. After reading the poem I understand better how deadly it can be to every aspect of life. Not moving can break us. I liked the imagery of water in puddles dissolving our foundations, crumble our walls. Change and innovation are the only way to go. Very wisely said!

I really liked how that last line turned the whole poem around. Surprise! I was expecting to be blown away, then found myself looking into a mirror. 2014! Yikes! That explains why you have 37 pages I think it was when I looked. Better clean my eyeballs and make room in my mind!
