A Poem by willweb

~

Breathing the day as the sun wanders by,

claiming a slice of its glow

Walking a path neath this wintertime sky,

chilly the breezes a' flow

Evergreen melodies bring on a smile,

here in these moments so clear

Lost in the season, I'll stay here a while,

my favorite time of the year

A beautiful picture of a season and nature. The imagery was truly striking.

You are welcome Will.
"here in these moments so clear," captures the essence of how I feel when I go for a bracing walk on a snowy-sunny winter's day ...it's gotta be Sunny though :)
...and the smell of evergreens is a bonus! ...a bracing good write, willweb.

Thanks JD, glad you stopped by
Winter is cold and silent. At times the stillness and silence are needed. Winter is not my favourite season, but you make it sound quite wonderful here will. Thank you for sharing your poetry.

Thank you for reading and commenting Chris. Hope your days warm up soon
I agree with John about the peacefulness of the winter season in your part of the world. I was in Northern Ireland once and was awed by the sheer white expanse of silence. I could here a pin drop in the house where I stayed. It was mindblowingly different to our noisy part of the world.

"Evergreen melodies bring on a smile,
here in these moments so clear"

these are such wonderful lines...

It is a very peaceful time in some parts of the world. Thank you Divya.
Despite its bad rep, there is a peacefulness to cold winter days and nights. I think it contains a stillness that the other seasons don't have, and in such times as these, a healing stillness is just what we need.
