Beneath the surface

Silence, on waves of our tide motioned heartbeats,

cascading rhythms, a smooth metronome

Keeping this time inside blue water passions,

beneath the surface, the feelings we’ve grown

 

Hidden so deep in the swells of affection,

swimming the shores of a long summer’s night

Building a fortress of seashell laced castles,

sand dollar curtains to fend off the light

 

Running for cover as sunrise now beckons,

placing our smiles where the seas cannot gaze

Whispering secrets of coastline devotion,

harboring dreams till the end of our days

 

Lighthouse lit beacons now search as a witness,

beaches a’ shimmer of moon glow above

Hoisting our anchor, we share the horizons,

sailing these oceans forever in love

I am finally beginning to realize that you have an auditorium overflowing with gifted poets, all daily banging out hundreds of thousands of poems from which you select armfulls of possibles to rewrite and further enhance, then to be loaded onto a conveyor belt with an auto-post app that feeds four or more each day to an adoring, impatiently waiting public who consume them like they would heaps of strawberry, whip cream icing on angle food cakes.
There is no other explanation for the stream of quality poetry that you continuously post!

Ok, you caught me but the crew only works four days a week so for the other three I am on my own. : ) And who doesn't like strawberries, whipped cream and angel food cake. That almost sounds like a poem to me.

Strawberries piled on angel food cake
Slathered with luscious whipped cream
Served as a picnic this side of the lake
Ripples the surface now gleam

Here in the sun as I drink in your smile
Eyes that so capture my heart
Feeling such joy in a natural style
Hoping we never shall part

So, join me my love in these sweets to partake
Something much more than a dream
Strawberries piled on angel food cake
Slathered with luscious whipped cream
