Sunrise wishes and morning kisses

Good morning

Sunrise wishes and morning kisses,

of pastel ribbons, horizon’s gleam.

Morning glories and breakfast stories,

my day with you starts a perfect dream.

 

Dawning shimmers in dew drop glimmers,

as bluebirds whistle up in the skies.

Warmer breezes as springtime teases,

reflecting colors within your eyes.

 

Holding hands while we make our plans,

your beauty takes all my cares away.

For here our love I am thinking of

alone with you on this wondrous day.

So now this one felt right with the periods. I don't know what to think. Possibly because there is very little punctuation it feels balanced. I've struggled with the punctuation. Sometimes spend more time on that than the poem itself. I hate it, and love it when it feels right. Creates emotion. Dramatic pauses and puts clothes on the naked poem written by the 'naked poet' (that's a senryu I wrote some time ago) I care about your poetry and like it, so I appreciate you making your point by marking my words. I'll do my best to keep up with you ... periodically!

This really was beautiful. The only people I know to worry about periods are prepubescent girls. As for punctuation in poetry E.E. Cummings just ignored the entirety half the time. I guess when you have a Masters of Arts from Harvard you're allowed to do that sort of thing. I must get me one of those. Delicious verse here, my friend.

Thanks so much. It is just a running joke I have with another poet on here. I very seldom use punctuation in my poetry aside from commas and quotation marks. I appreciate you stopping by and reading this morning

I get slammed for using rhyme all the time...see, there I go again. (laughing) Even a gigolo can't please everyone and I'm too old for the job. I just write whatever I write and sometimes it's okay. Robert Frost said he threw away over half his poems. There's a dumpster I'd enjoy digging through. They do that sort of thing with bands...the "bootlegged" Frost can't you see it in print?
