Love is a fool

that I wear on my sleeve

Unbuttoned feelings

I’ve come to believe

 

High cotton meanings

still wrinkled at best

Matching the stain

blotted out on my chest

 

Premeasured hemlines

I find way too long

Altered decisions,

each pattern is wrong

 

Belt loop illusions

with bellbottom dreams

Broken heart stitches

apart at the seams

 

Tie-dyed directions

that point the wrong way

Corduroy kisses

my mind can’t erase

 

Dry cleaned emotions

now waiting to be

Love is a fool

and it's dressed just like me

I feel this one...In my younger days I wore nothing but bell-bottoms and flannel shirts...and I never knew how to keep my emotions from being right there on my sleeve.

I was unbuttoned so many times by love, and then the cotton just kept getting so worn, but I wore those
shirts until they were see through from age.
Now I am the one who is see through.
me and my "dry cleaned emotions"---and love isn't such a fool. I am the one who is for falling for it and into it.

I was the same, bellbottoms and t-shirts. And the more patches sewn on the pants, the better. I was about the same when it came to love as well. Happy you could relate to this
