Even with clouds

~

The sun was still there

when the clouds went away

The sky was quite blue

not a sad shade of gray

The warmth came to be

as the chill disappeared

And now it seems funny

the things that I feared

~

My mood like a cloud

it had rained on my smile

I was sure this would be

a bad day for a while

I moped and I pouted

just staying inside

It seem much too easy

to sit in and hide

~

But now I feel stupid

I wasted away

A perfectly wonderful

nice summer day

For now I can see

that it could have been fun

For even with clouds

there is always a sun

how did that song go-- "I can see clearly now, the rain is gone. Gone are the dark clouds, no obstacles in my way"..... your poem made me sing that song and smile... It is difficult to be happy when it's raining, though often I want to revert to my childhood and go out and get soaked, jump in puddles and just welcome the rain... thanks Will for sharing your poem and allowing my inner child do some puddle jumping...
