Following stars

~

I followed a star,

as she dreamed of romance

Wished on its shimmer,

for only a chance

Meandered about,

at the edge of the day

Wondering if,

she could just pass my way

Picked up a leaf,

that had fallen the ground

Noticed her looking,

not making a sound

I motioned, "up there,"

as she whispered, "how far?" 

She took my hand,

we both followed a star
