One Moment

There's silence, only silence.
You don't even dare to breathe.
You're counting on this moment.
This one chance to succeed.

There's stillness, only stillness;
Save for your heart, ever- pounding.
The rapid, steady, heavy beats
Like trumpeters resounding.

This moment, this one moment
For all your life you've waited
Blood, sweat and tears 
Have turned to cheers
Success is hard work celebrated.

This poem reminds me so much of my first ballet performance and how anxious I was because "I was counting on that moment. That one chance to succeed". I agree that you shouldnt change one thing about this poem. I think the short length combined with the anticipating words emphasises how moments like these may feel like forever at the time, when really they are as short and yet, as meaningful as this poem. Amazing write once again.
