Gentle Sunlight (After the Rain)

A poem about the beauty of spring showers and sunshine.

Sunlight

A glimpse, a glimmer

Sweeps through the parting clouds

Every bright and golden shimmer

Gently warms the dampened ground.


Sunlight

Trickles, dances

Through the canopy of trees

It coaxes every bud to wake

And warms each quivering leaf.


Sunlight

Glowing, gleaming

Breaking through the shroud of mist

Beckons the earth to awaken

With its soft and warming kiss.

Amazing poem.
I really like the way you present the sunlight and tell a story of how it fights its way through clouds, leaves and mist to the ground, taking the reader along on its journey, to bring warmth where it is needed. There is a hopeful note to that thought.
