Standing in the GrayA Poem by Wolf WarFree Form PoetryHear I am standing. Waiting for you to come home. I know that you never will but I can not help but wait for you. A day will pass, then two, and then a week, a year. Still I stand hear waiting, A sentinel in the dark. I will keep a candle burning for your safe passage.
In that haze of that candle, When i can't wait no more and I think the tears have dried away there is a reminder. Thus I stand in the gray, Bleak and unyielding, With my tiny candle holding it against the dark. © 2012 Wolf WarAuthor's Note
