Life Diamonds

Life Diamonds

A Poem by Wolfwind

The facets of a diamond are many and diverse.

They each bring a new view upon our inner light.

In the heart, each facet is given life by one spark.

What people see can be a myriad as a symphony.

To reach deep with ourselves and gaze upon these windows

We wonder if life might have taken different twists and turns.

Through these different colors, vistas and endless doorways

Perhaps things may have been better, or perhaps worse.

We each have our pathways that have been walked.

Each a destiny that we have been gifted to entertain.

What if there was one, a portal that needed to be lit.

To shine upon the world so that you become correct.

One window in the masses out of all the rest that called out

Beckoning with such beautiful energy, to not to heed it

Would surely drive oneself insane with strangles strife,

Leaving one feeling hollow and empty deep down inside.

What if....

That pathway was still open. There to decide upon it’s light

Taking it’s bliss and joy, spin much harmony into your soul.

What if....

Such a decision would change the very fiber of your true being.

Alter existence in such a drastic way, that no one might fathom it.

What if....

You knew that the outcome would free you of stress and negativity

Finally allowing what you knew to be true inside to finally shine outward.

Would you take that path?.....

I have wondered that myself many times. What if....but asking that question doesn't get me anywhere by wishing I took that path, or chose that door instead. Reality doesn't change, it is what it is at that moment. One can What If...themselves till they take their last breath, and it won't do any good because they are still where they are and can't go back. I loved the poem though. It is a puzzling question however. We try to pass along the wisdom we have experienced to our children, but ultimately their What ifs...are their own. :)

Free will. Sometimes I think we're already on the path we're supposed to be on...because we are here. And if we decide to choose a different path, that was also meant to be. This kind of thought-process can drive one mad. I really like thought-provoking pieces, and this most definitely is one, thanks!

What kind of font is this? It seems to flicker upward...just like a moving flame...overlaping the sentences above and below. Maybe this was not intentional, but it gave this poem an extra special something that I thought was worth mentioning. And you bring forth the nagging life long question many of us ponder...what if? There's so many times in my life, that I was scared to walk straight on a path because I could not see beyond the mirage of hope. Wonderful, and thought provoking. So glad I wondered over here to check you out.

I would, just to see where it took me. Haven't traveled such a clean one so far, and as long as it didn't close back up right away I wouldn't mind seeing where I could be. An intriguing piece Aaron, and a great one, as usual =] thank you for sharing yet another piece of your mind...
