Vasilij Terkin

A Poem by Lt. Norman

I fell beneath Rzhev

In shapeless mud

In fifth company on the left

In heavy air attack

I didn't see a flash

Haven't heard exploding mine

I just fell to bottomless depth

In the whole world never more

There's nothing left from my uniform

Alexander Trifonovich Tvardovskij

Poem by actual soviet soldier who experienced the battle for Rzhev in 1942. I wanted to put it here as a tribute to all WWII soldiers whose names aren't remembered.
