I'm Selfish

I'm selfish
"I've never met anyone like you," I tell you 

The truth is I'm selfish
I ask if you're okay, 

It's only that I need you 'Okay'
I peck you,whispering, "Take care." 

I only want you safe - for me
I give you my heart, 

It's all to have yours
 I lean to kiss you, and yet

It's your kiss I really need
"I love you," I say

What I'm really saying is, please love me more
 You die, I cry, 

I need you alive for me

Its all for me

I'm selfish.

Author's Note

I write short poems to break through writer's block ( strange...ha?) Those of you who read my chapters know that things do get lengthy at times...maybe most times.

The poem has so much raw emotion and truth to it. I do agree with Clara about what love makes people do. There is a very strange sense to needing someone to do what you do just to a grander extent.

I know that with my husband I love him, but I want him to love me more. I don't want him to die because I want to die the day before so I never have to live a day of my life without him.

LOL... Love your comments...I, too, write, or attempt poetry to move on from writer's block .... but somehow they all get reviewed and comments while my stories (these days) seem to get read but receive no comments??? What is your secret?

Ah writers block we all have it. though I never really thought of writing poems to break out of it. Yesterday I wrote for 4 hours with Phantom and all. After that I needed to take a break at least for a few days then ill go back and edit it to my liking. Very well written and I will look at your book when I get a chance.

That's not strange. What I do to get rid of writer's block is since I have my series planned out, i'll write scenes that sometimes are in the last book or something. It helps with present scenes, too. ^^

That's actually pretty good idea, to write poems to break writer's block. I've tried that but it doesn't seem to work for me ahaha, i end up with more great poems, just no stories or chapters for books. Anywho, this is just so...lovely. Completely honest, and heart warming
