My Second Chance

My Second Chance

A Poem by

Take a photograph it maybe the last
I don’t have a past
I don’t have a future
I just have one last chance
Am I just chasing a ghost?

A ghost of a past life
You let me go so suddenly
So suddenly I feel into a pit of loss
Loss so suddenly I can’t climb out of the pit
Not on my own at the least
I hope you know someday what you did to me
I still have my oldest love
I am looking down the barrel of my only love
Should I pull the trigger?

No I can’t it is an unforgivable crime
It is the only unforgivable sin
It’s not the end for me
It is a new beginning
This is my second chance
My time to shine on my own
I have given so much.

Time to put the gun down
Time to walk on
Time to stop feeling hopeless
There is more to life than just the small things
My life isn’t just mine
It is also those who are in my life family and friends
Here it goes my second chance.

your repetition is highly effective. Heightened, fast paced prose poetry at it's best! Well done!. Just a suggestion, you could lose the commas to make it an easier read. Each separated line functions in the same thing a comma would do. Hope this helps!
