A letter that changed her.A Poem by Katie The NekoA poem about an army wife..The sound of a rumbling engine The crackling of leaves along the road A man in a suit and tie stood at her door Her eyes started to water as she felt a pain in her core Before he could speak she fell to her knees onto the floor The letter she feared was in his grasp He gave her a sincere look and didn't know what to ask She nodded and told him shed keep in touch She added his number into her clutch She tried to keep busy almost all of the time Every picture she saw she would say, "stay strong" so she wouldn't cry Numb Nothing seemed to take away the pain Anything else she could use would cost her a grand She tried to work out even ,watch her favorite bands The only thing she wanted was her man
