Wildflowers in Springtime

Wildflowers in Springtime

A Poem by Trace
"

A song about Wild flowers, springtime, and The Rocky Mountains.

"

Wildflower, wildflower, bloom in the springtime
On the mountains where I love to roam

Wildflower, wildflower, bloom on the mountains
And the meadows where wildlife calls home

Wildlife, wildlife, born in those meadows
Frolicking in the valleys below

Wildlife, wildlife, born on the mountain
Carefree as the wind gently blows

Give me the wildflowers
          Give me the springtime
Give me the mountains to roam

Give me the wildflowers
          Growing on the mountains
In my heart; it’s where I call home

Bubbling brook, bubbling brook, from melting snow forms
Feeding wildflowers through the meadow it flows

Bubbling brook, bubbling brook, nourishing the wildlife
Growing larger as it meanders to the valley below

Sun rise oh sun rise, see it escalating
Blessing all things with its warming rays

Moon rise oh moon rise, over the mountains
As each new season counts up the days

Give me the wildflowers
          Give me the springtime
Give me the mountains to roam

Give me the wildflowers
          Growing on the mountains
In my heart; it’s where I call home

Springtime, oh springtime, followed by warm summers
Then autumn leafs and winters storms too

But give me the springtime, bringing the wildflowers
So that I may pick a bouquet for you

Give me the wildflowers
          Give me the springtime
Give me the mountains to roam

Give me the wildflowers
          Growing on the mountains
In my heart; it’s where I call home

Give me the wildflowers
        Give me the springtime
Give me the Rocky Mountains too

Give me the wildflowers
               Growing on those mountains
So that I may pick some for you.

It really does read like a song! I'd love to hear you sing it.
Researching the Rocky Mountains I see, as far as the U.S., they are in Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico.
It reads just like you are strolling through. Very nice. Very nice.

I adore the wildflowers. I plant the seed of the wildflower in my garden. They expand to all the neighbor's yards too. I miss the warm days of spring already. I live in Michigan. Winter is coming. I love the hope and positive movement of the words. An amazing poem. I did enjoy.

I live in the mountains and I like the flow of your piece and appreciate wild flowers in springtime....I also like the repetitions and there is a hint of romanticism here as well... I feel as if it's almost a song I could sing (not a good voice!) thank you for sharing!

I love Spring and the beautiful flowers that bloom. A romantic time, indeed. Love being is the air, along with soft, yet tender moments. There's something about mountains in the background, that help create such a breathtaking mood.

That last line is so dreamy.

Such a lovely song, Trace. : )

:) Smiling.

I was truly captivated by this poem. It's a vivid, joyful celebration of nature, from the wildflowers to the mountains and all the wildlife in between. The rhythmic, almost musical flow of the words reminds me of a gentle stream and the changing seasons. As I read it, I felt fully immersed in the beautiful landscape.

A wonderful spring lyric poem. I used to live in NM - lots of dust in spring and not much blooming. I'm in MI now - the daffodils are up, crocus have bloomed, violets, pansies - so many birds. It gives me a lift just like this poem
