An image

the day was dragging,

it was another sweltering hot summer,

so hot, the sweat felt like wet fire as it rolled off my face,

across the barren ground, the heat waves danced,

shadows were non-existent,

when from within a mirage,

an image,

a vision,

someone moving,

walking, coming toward me,

an image of beauty,

casual, soft, and voluptuous ,

an image,

a woman,

coming for me,

to be with me?

I felt her touch,

tender, cool,

I heard her whisper,,,,,

my name,,,,,,

was it real, was she real?

my name?

yes, she whispered my name,

an image,

of the one I had loved,

but she can’t be real,

CAN SHE?

ETERNITY

MIRAGE: You are sweltering under the hot summer heat. Sweat feels like wet fire. Wow! That's graphic and image enhancing!
The heat waves dance. I've seen that! OH, the "woman". The one you have loved.
It's Leslie! O.M.G! Ya'll are getting back TOGETHER??!!!
Every man was YOU. I could see that throughout the whole story! You are wonderful!

we are told early on the image came from within. It appears, then, that though the relationship no longer exists in fact, the speaker has not released it.
