Drowned in Beauteous Shadows

Something I just wrote.

Praising stupdity
Sacrifice mind for beauty
Cut loose this brain
Embellish the skin

Hands clasped together
Knees bruised and withered
Head bowed in submission
Beauteous and stupid

Set this golden crown atop your deflated head
Plaster over your imperfections with this powder
To you we bow lower and lower
Faces pressed against the dirty ground

Forged in the light of this scathing camera
Crooked nose and offset eyes
Corralled and put out of sight

Birthed in the dust of this tilting tornado
Repugnant pieces of flesh
Beaten and forced from the nest

So beautiful, no thought
Casting a towering shadow
Upon twisted and deformed faces

Forgiving futility
Of the mind for beauty
Cut up this soul
Cut out this heart
Cut loose this brain
Ornament the skin
Embellish the face

Author's Note

"So tough, no thought
If he stands out from the shadows
Residing him that outside is"
I took those lines out because I couldn't understand them. Don't do drugs, kids.

this was kinda confusing....
from what i could tell its about people being fake to try to be perfect and somehow everyone tends to worship them for acheiving that?

Okay this poem confuses me but I think i may have its meaning;

Loose your body and just let you be the person inside of you, loose the looks and go through life the hardway. Work; earn everything.

I could be completely wrong but I thought I'd give understanding it a shot.
