I'll Still Be There

Until you say you don't care about me, I'll still be there.

A part of me wants to love you,

to hold on tight

and never let go,

whisper "I love you,"

even if you already know.

But yet...

There's something about you

that pushes me away,

It screams at my heart,

it tells me to stay away.

But how can a prisoner of love,

stay away from her freedom?

How can she pull away,

from the only one she knows.

So kill me,

hate me,

and toss me aside,

But until you say those words,

the ones that destroy all things,

I'll keep on loving what makes you...you.

You can have my soul,

my heart is already yours,

you can have my air,

tell me you wish I would die,

But I'll still be there.

Because you have yet,

to tell me,

that you don't care.

yes, i realize it does not rhyme in every single stanza...but who said it had to?

It rhymes enough to have good flow, and you're right, no one said you must rhyme every line.

This is a good poem; i especially like the lines

A person who loves someone so much the person will put up with anything until the other person says go away.
