I am

written for English class

I am Day and Night
I wonder what people really see
I hear the silent whispers in the air
I see what people think of me
I want to shine bright
I am Day and Night

I pretend to be the stars
I feel my insults echoing back to me
I touch the sun and the moon
I worry about those around me
I cry about the broken memories
I am Day and Night

I understand that memories are life
I say Let the world decide
I dream to be the best
I try to reach up high
I hope to never stop dreaming
I am Day and Night
